It’s amazing what you find when you least expect it.
I was driving around looking for a particular business but turned into the wrong driveway. I went around the back of the shopping center to turn around. Hidden from view was a large warehouse building. My curiosity was sparked, and I wanted to know what it was. Fortunately, the bay doors were opened so I could see inside. I’m so glad I have lots of curiosity because inside were a lot of old classic cars being repaired. I assumed it was just a repair shop but decided to peek my head in to see the cars.
Sitting behind the desk was a man doing paperwork. I introduced myself, and we started a conversation. These were his personal cars and workspace. Every inch was a reflection of his passions and his hobbies. He is a collector, an artist, a custom home builder, an engineer, and a general contractor. He appreciates the textures and details of the old and imagens the stories every object holds. The walls are filled with his personal art. The corners are filled with collectibles and memories.
On the sofa, in the office area, is a display of model cars all lined up. They are perfectly arranged as if in a garage all their own. Each model car is an exact replica of the cars he owns.
I feel fortunate that my photography and curiosity take me to places hidden from plain view and meet interesting people.
